If you use a Bank of America account connected to QuickBooks Online, there’s an important update coming soon. Bank of America is rolling out a new connection process, and clients must take action to keep their accounts linked.

What’s Happening?

Beginning October 8, 2025, through November 12, 2025, Bank of America accounts will transition to a new connection method in stages. Clients will receive a notification directly from QuickBooks when it’s their turn to update.

The good news: once you become eligible, your old connection will continue working for a 90-day grace period. After that, the existing connection will automatically turn off.

  • Existing connections begin disconnecting: January 6, 2026

  • All old connections fully disconnected by: February 10, 2026

For anyone connecting a Bank of America account on or after October 1, 2025, the new connection will be set up automatically.

Why Updating Matters

If you don’t update your Bank of America connection within the 90-day grace period, you’ll lose access to critical QuickBooks features, including:

  • Automated bank feeds

  • Cash flow insights

  • Lending options tied to account data
